Gnomes, One of the First Races, are one of the most powerful magick users within the Seven Kingdoms. Having travelled out from their Kingdom, Basteln, they are seeked out as masters of magick, due to their connection with the Fae and the First World. Gnomes, along with Elves were instrumental in creating the War-Forged. The kingdoms were brought to heel after the war of the Red Son by the Elven Prince Vandor, now High King of the Seven. For a player they can choose Gnomes as a playable race using the stats below:
Ability Score Adjustment: Your Intelligence score increases by 2.
Age: Gnomes mature at the same rate humans do, and most are expected to settle down into an adult life by around age 40. They can live 350 to almost 500 years.
Alignment: Gnomes are most often good, leaning towards chaotic due to their bond with the First world and the Fae. Gnomes are good-hearted, and even the tricksters among them are more playful than vicious.
Size: Gnomes are between 3 and 4 feet tall and average about 40 pounds. Your size is Small. Speed: Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Darkvision: Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Gnome Cunning: You have advantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom , and Charisma saving throws against magic.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Gnomish. The Gnomish language, which uses the Dwarvish script, is renowned for its technical treatises and its catalogs of knowledge about the natural world.
Subrace: Two subraces of gnomes are found among the worlds of D&D: forest gnomes and fae gnomes. Choose one of these subraces.
Forest Gnome Forest gnomes feel a strong connection to nature based off of their ties to the first world.
Ability Score Adjustment: Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Natural Illusionist: You know the minor illusion cantrip. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for it.
Speak with Small Beasts: Through sounds and gestures, you can communicate simple ideas with Small or smaller beasts. Forest gnomes love animals and often keep squirrels, badgers, rabbits, moles, woodpeckers, and other creatures as beloved pets.
Fae Gnome These gnome usually show bright vibrant colors of hair and a bend of the chaotic due to their unnaturally strong connection to the first world.
Ability Score Adjustment: Your Constitution score increases by 1.
Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Mask of the Wild: You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
